- A native of Chenghai in Guangdong province, Du Yingqiang is active in the painters' circles in Guangdong, and serves as the Director of the Painting Academy of Shantou (Shantou Hua Yuan). His paintings of banyan trees such as the current lot are often based on the expansive banyans in his hometown.
