A transmutation red glazed porcelain covered jar
Late Qing/Republic period
Of simple ovoid section surmounted by a fitted lid with globular finial, the exterior surfaces covered in a thick glaze of predominantly crimson hue with a purple tinge around the mouth rim, all above a rough foot surrounding the recessed base covered in a clear glaze burnt a slightly cinnamon hue toward the edges (minor chips, lid possibly associated).
