A Longquan celadon glazed porcelain baluster vase
Ming dynasty
Very thickly potted with a long trumpet-form neck above an inverted pear shape body all surmounting a high foot of concentric horizontal lobes encircling a deep conical interior base, the exterior sides incised with concentric rings of lotus petal bands, cloud patterns, scrolling lotus and vine motifs, and abstract repeating patterns, the exterior surfaces covered in a thick viscous glaze pooling in varied hues of gray-green (chip to exterior mouth rim).
