A composite Ottoman flintlock blunderbuss
19th century and later
The 8 inch three-stage steel barrel with flared muzzle, the breech and muzzle section finely chased with floral scrollwork. Lockplate chased en suite, the cock and fittings associated. Engraved steel triggerguard late 18th/early 19th century. Brass counterplate later. Full walnut stock of later origin, the buttstock on one side with a mother-of-pearl blossom-form inlay, the other side with an incised mother-of-pearl roundel.
Condition: Very good as a composite as described above. Metal showing scattered light pitting.
