A cased and factory engraved Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver
Serial no. 159803 IE for 1866, .44 caliber. 8 inch barrel with New York address. Blued, casehardened and silver-plated finish. Barrel, frame and triggerguard/gripstrap with factory scroll-engraved coverage; hammer with scroll-engraving and wolf's head. Ivory Grips. With maroon velour-lined casing. Accessories including slanted charger stand-of-arms powder flask, blued Colt's patent mold, L-shaped tool and unopened pack of 250 Eley Brothers percussion caps.
Condition: Very good to fine. Barrel retains 40% plus dark blue finish. Cylinder with strong scene and much blue remaining on rebated portion. Action with generous traces of faded casehardening. Triggerguard with traces of silver-plated finish. Some serial number re-stamped. Excellent grips with dark patina but not original to this gun. Case exterior showing scattered marks. Lining showing wear and staining with one tear to lid. Flask retaining perhaps 25% varnish. Mold and tool retain most blued finish.
