A factory engraved Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver
Serial no. 163712 E for 1867, .44 caliber. 8 inch barrel with New York markings; barrel, frame and triggerguard/gripstrap with factory scroll-engraved decoration, the gripstrap neatly engraved, possibly by the factory, E. Smith. Elephant ivory grips.
Condition: Very good. Metal showing mottled grey patina with some light pitting and generally sharp markings and engraving. Unmarked barrel wedge a replacement, the wedge screw missing. Cylinder retaining 65-75% of scene, some areas partially obscured by small marks. Triggerguard with 30% silver-plated finish remaining, the apron showing traces of silver. Grips with fine patina, barking at butt and scattered small marks.
