An American militia officer's 'star of stars' waistbelt plate
A lot of two officer's belt buckles
Comprising: 1) An American militia officer's 'star of stars' waistbelt plate, circa 1815, rectangular die-struck silver-on-brass plate with finely cast design of spread eagle and stand of arms below the 'star of stars'. Back with applied tongue and belt loop with two iron keepers. 2) An early U.S. Model 1851 die-stamped eagle buckle, the thin die-struck brass plate with standard motif on a slightly pebbled ground enclosed by a narrow border. Reverse with applied tongue, the belt loop missing. Length: 2 7/8".
Condition: 1) Retaining 90% plus silver. 2) Fine.
