A deluxe presentation U.S. Model 1902 saber for all officers
Slightly curved 28 inch blade with 17 inch panel etched with conventional motifs on a gilt ground centering the inscription Fifth Serg./of Artillery/Edw. J. Deveney/1937-1938 and A. & H. A. Co. Silver-plated brass hilt with molded decoration as the Model 1872 cavalry officer's saber. Bakelite grip. Brown leather sword knot. Steel scabbard, the silver-plated suspension mount pierced with florals and Federal eagle, the chape chased with florals.
Condition: Blade with scattered minor spotting and some wear to gilt finish. Hilt with mottled patina and retaining 90% plated finish. Knot scuffed and showing partial break. Scabbard body has been chemically cleaned, the mounts retaining much of the plated finish.
