A Victorian Pattern 1895 infantry officer's sword by Gardiner & Company
The 33 inch with 13 inch etched panel incorporating scrolling florals with the Royal crown and cipher, one side of ricasso marked Gardiner & Co./120 Victoria St./London. Plated half-basket guard pierced with scrolls and the crown and cipher. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Leather-covered service scabbard.
Condition: Blade showing minor scratches and spotting. Hilt with some pinpoint spotting to finish. Scabbard with minor scuffing and small tear at tip.
