A scarce Balinese ritual knife
19th century
With 9 inch recurved single edged blade, one side with short fuller inlaid with brass rice grain designs, the blade flat inlaid in brass with a key fret design; spine inlaid with brass bands, the rear set with a brass panel in the form of a scrolling dragon. Curved hilt with one-piece horn grip, long brass ferrule and flat brass pommel cap. Together with associated
leather scabbard, the reinforced throat retaining small section of suspension strap.
Condition: Blade showing spotting and areas of light pitting with slight losses to inlay. Hilt with dark patina. Scabbard scuffed but sound.
