A Near Eastern Bronze Age votive dagger
probably circa 1500-800 B.C.
Formed on one piece of flat bronze stock, the 8 1/2 inch double edged blade with sharpened edges but rounded point and decorated with two narrow lines in the form of a fuller terminating above the hilt with a lotus blossom below the figure of a crane taking flight; grip flaring to the slightly domed, flanged pommel.
Condition: Decoration on one side very worn, the edges of the blade showing some frittering.
