A superb Spanish polychrome Chinoiserie decorated leather mounted six panel floor screen
18th/19th century
The two left panels depicting a court scene with central noble figure in a pavilion surrounded by attendants beneath cranes, birds and clouds; the two right panels depicting a second courtly scene with a poet sitting in a pavilion among attendants and courtiers beneath similar birds and clouds; the central two panels depict a lush flowering garden separating the two scenes, also beneath stylized clouds, within a frame with tack head trim.
