A Grand Tour black figure column krater and an olpe
19th century
Each heightened with white and crimson slip, the first depicting three armed warriors wearing Corinthian helmets battling two centaurs, the obverse with three hunters attacking a boar with hound and spears, further embellished within bands of tongues, rays, ivy, lotus buds and key, height 9 3/4in (25cm); length across handles 13in (33cm); the second with panel depicting warrior on horseback flanked by two others each wearing Corinthian helmet and holding a shield, height 8 3/4in (22cm).
