An Empire giltwood fauteuil à la reine
with inventory mark probably for Louis Joseph, Duc de Bourbon and Prince de Conde (1736-1818)
early 19th century
The rectangular back within a quatrefoil and rosette carved frame continuing to leaf and anthemion carved padded arms with tapering leaf tip carved columnar supports; the bowed seat carved with laurel fronds centering roundels, raised on tapering front legs and rear saber legs headed by patera; the inside rear seat rail stamped with the initials 'LB' beneath a coronet within an oval.
