A group of three carved hardstone snuff bottles
The first a gourd-shaped bottle of chrysoprase, the interior well-hollowed, the walls rendered in raised relief with the hobnail rind covered by overlapping leaves, the matrix of mottled rice-straw hue with icy white inclusions and natural fissure lines (chipped); the second a carved green beryl snuff bottle of flattened ovoid form with concave rim to the cylindrical neck, carved with a boy on an ox reversed by a fourteen-character poem on the same subject, all above an oval foot ring (foot area polished); the third a brown smoky quartz snuff bottle of rectangular form with cusped edges, cylindrical neck and a rectangular foot ring with rounded corners, an opaque gray layer of skin to the front carved as birds on a blossoming plum tree (foot chipped); all with stoppers.
