    This impressive console forms part of the Mitchell-Calot collection of Brandt and Art Deco works purchased in France during the 1920s and 1930s to furnish a contemporary villa built by Edward Mitchell in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage in the 1920s. After the Second World War the collection was recovered from France and taken to Ireland where the family lived in Co. Meath until the 1980s.
