A Birmingham or South Staffordshire enamel snuff box or bonbonnière, circa 1760-65
Modelled as the head of Neptune, the bearded God of the Sea with ruddy cheeks, his crown picked out in gold forming the edge of the lid, which is painted with a spouting dolphin framed by shells and edged with water, the base painted with a rose spray, with gilt metal mounts, 8cm high
