Reading from -5 to 175 degrees on the silvered scale and engraved Royal Geographical Society on the arc. The index arm with magnifying lens, screw clamp and vernier reading to 15 seconds. Fitted with four sun, and three horizon shades. In a mahogany carrying case with telescope, sight tubes, dark lenses, adjusting key and screwdriver. Marked No.18 inside the lid in Indian ink.
