The John Carreck Collection of Phonographs and Gramophones Collecting practically anything that recorded or reproduced sound on wax or disc, the late Mr. Carreck started his interest at the right time. By the end of the 1960s, the collection had grown considerably, due in part to the number of machines being disposed of in that decade. An active member of the CLPGS and other connected groups, he provided lectures to many outside the circle of mechanical music to raise interest and appriciation. A meticulous note-maker, most machines offered here each retain hand-written cards on the history of that particular model, the price paid, who from and any modification made before, during or since purchase.
