PHOTOGRAPHY—THE WEST.
Album containing 56 albumen prints, predominately 6½ x 8½ to 7½ x 11½ inches, 1883-86, mounted, most captioned within print and some captions in pencil to mounts, oblong folio, quarter leather, upper cover titled in gilt: "Europe 1883 / California 1886," generally in very good to excellent condition, some toning, a few prints lightly scratched, spotting to one print, leather of binding rubbed, backstrip lacking.

A collection of 35 photographs of the American West and 21 of England and Scotland. The American photographs include panoramas of Denver, Colorado Springs, Leadville, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco; scenic views of Yosemite Valley and Falls, Glacier Point, Old Faithful and Castle Geyser, Bridal Veil Falls, Oneonta Gorge, the Pillars of Hercules, the Grand Canyon, a railroad bridge and a mining flume near Denver. Several of the photographs bear the studio names of Taber, W.H. Jackson & Co, or C.R. Savage. The photographs of England and Scotland include views of Inverness, Melrose Abbey, Trinity Church, University College Oxford, Tolbooth and Cannon Gate, Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine, Broomielaw Bridge, and Edinburgh Castle.
