[Great Composers]. 12 wood engraved portraits, signed ("Paul Landacre") and captioned below the image, 1935-36, images approximately 6 x 4 to 7 x 5 inches, matted, each print one in an edition of 60 (a few numbered).
A complete set of original prints executed by Landacre as cover designs for Program Magazine, produced monthly from October 1935 to September 1936 by KECA radio (Los Angeles) to supplement its broadcast programming. Portraits of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bach, Sibelius, Franck, Debussy, Wagner, Tschaikovsky, Verdi, Schubert, and Stravinsky. Invierno Press reissued the portraits in 1979 as Great composers: from 12 wood engravings. Complete sets of the original prints are scarce. Lehman 164-65.
