Period quarter calf over marbled boards, raised bands, spine titles stamped in gilt, marbled endpapers. Half-title lacking, subscribers list and list of plates misbound, some spotting to prelims of vol 1 including title, offsetting from plates, bindings rubbed.

FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE with first plate in volume II ("Aymer de Valence") marked "F. Mackenzie delt." Tooley 2.
