HALFORD, FREDERIC M. Dry Fly Entomology. A Brief Description of Leading Types of Natural Insects Serving as Food for Trout & Grayling with the 100 Best Patterns of Floating Flies. London: Vinton, 1897.
2 volumes. Large 8vo. 28 plates (of which 10 are hand-colored and occasionally touched in gilt), second volume with 100 actual specimens of artificial flies within sunken mounts. Untrimmed in original dark brown morocco gilt lettered. Custom linen case. Very light foxing to plates, the hand-colored plates lightly toned, final quarter of text volume with generally unobtrusive wormholes at fore-edge, joints rubbed, one beginning to split at head.

ONE OF 100 DE LUXE COPIES signed and numbered by the author, this being copy 97. "Halford's place in the history of fishing is well marked.
