Folio (550 x 435 mm). Engraved throughout: folding index map and a very large perspective plan on 20 double-page sheets by Claude Lucas after Louis Bretez (sheets 18 and 19 joined). Period red morocco gilt, both covers with arms of the city of Paris, wide gilt borders and spine compartments with fleurs-de-lis, all edges gilt. Toning, occasional dust-soiling, rebacked with most of original spine laid down, corners repaired.
STUNNING BIRD'S EYE VIEW OF PARIS. The 20 sheets form a single enormous plan (approximately 3200 x 2500 mm if joined) with a decorative border and enough detail to still be of use to researchers into the pre-Haussman architecture of Paris.
