Offset from plates, some light foxing, stains to title, short closed tear to fore-edge of pp 199/200, some general wear to binding.
FIRST EDITION. Phillip, the first governor of New South Wales, was instructed to build a convict settlement in Australia. He reached Botany Bay in 1788, but found the site unsuitable and then sailed to Port Jackson, where he founded the city of Sydney. Hill p 233.
