Provenance: period ownership signature to title; Giovanni Fleetwood (ownership signature to first blank dated 1732).
Second Italian edition (following Valgrisio's edition of the year before) of the first part of João de Barros' major work on the voyages of the Portuguese to Asia. The present volume translates the "deca prima" of the work, which was ultimately comprised of eight decades.
