Illuminated Latin manuscript on vellum. [Northern French, likely Paris, c.1440.] 119 leaves, 17 lines per page, brown ink, gothic bookhand, written space 95 x 64 mm, numerous 2- and 3-line initials in gold, pink, blue and white; 17 three-quarters borders of leafy tendrils in polychrome and gold; and FIVE ARCH-TOPPED MINIATURES in burnished gold frames. 19th century vellum. Some rubbing and soiling, hole to large initial under first miniature, occasional cropping to borders, binding defective.
The miniatures comprise: the Annunciation (f.13r), King David kneeling beside his harp (f.21r), the tomb of Lazarus (f.32v), the Crucifixion (f.116r), and the Arma Christi (f.118v).
