The case with rectangular dome over arched cornice, glazed side panels, plinth base raised on bracket feet, arched brass dial chased and engraved with leafy scrolls and dragons in the arch, circular white enamel dial with fifth seconds ring enclosing roman chapters, pierced blued hands, (sweep seconds hand lacking), rectangular brass movement with four cylindrical pillars, duplex escapement mounted on back plate, gilt balance with flat spring, twin going barrels, winding arbors with exposed clicks on the back plate, indirect hand setting by means of wheel and arbor through the plates 9.75 in. (25 cm) high
