The ovoid vase with a slightly splayed foot and elongated neck and decorated on the body with a continuous design of a phoenix and a dragon punctuated by foliate scroll, all boldly carved in sunken and raised relief and decorated in gold, copper, silver and shakudo inlays, the shoulder, neck and foot designed with geometric friezes in gold damascene, signed on the foot Saikyo Inoue
