A two section cloisonné enamel koro
Attributed to Namikawa Yasuyuki (1845-1927), Meiji period (late 19th century)
Fashioned as a kettle (chagama) set into a portable brazier (furo) raised on three cloud-form supports with multiple cherry blossom-form pierced openings to the shoulder and either side, both vessels decorated with the 'Three Friends of Winter' (sho-chiku-bai) in gilt cloisons of varying thickness, all reserved on a lavender hana-bishi patterned ground and framed by borders of overlapping petals, the furo with an additional key-fret band on the shoulder and applied with a pair of gilt triple cherry blossom-and-loose ring handles repeated on the kama below a slightly domed lid scattered with further pierced blossoms, one centering a bud-form finial, with gilt edge bands
