A Shibayama-style tsuba-form plaque

Of mokko shape and designed in gilt hiramakie, takamakie, togidashi, mura-nashiji and inlaid okibirame, ivory, mother-of-pearl and tortoise-shell with a tug-of-war between Fudo-myo and a pair of demons, one of the deity's acolytes standing with a ribbon-tied standard, the tsuba's rim accented with gyobu-nashiji repeated on the seppa dai inlaid with a silver cartouche signed Nemoto saku, the reverse decorated en suite with a peacock and pair of quail in a flowering landscape
