The rectangular box with canted edges laquered in two shades of gold and silver takamakie and hiramakie and hirame against a roiro nuri ground with Hotei and two young attendants practicing ikebana before a large incense burner (koro) decorated with chrysanthemums on waves, the figures' robes decorated with floral patterns and their faces and chests inlaid in ivory, the edges of the cover lacquered with seaweed and shells in gold hiramakie, the interior decorated with poem slips in iroe takamakie against a nashiji ground; rectangular ink stone and circular copper water dropper with chrysanthemum pierced collar; edges fundame
