Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with a central figural roundel with courtesans and an attendant on a garden terrace, the sloping sides scattered with animal and floral medallions on a ground of gilt scrolling tendrils alternating with diaper patterns, the inverted rim with a shippo-tsunagi garland above a band of underglaze blue petals encircling the short ring foot
