T6 Confederate States of America (CSA) $50 1861 AU58 PMG
Only the slightest paper discoloration is noted at the edges. This uniface note is endorsed on the reverse: DISBURSED SEP 22, 1861 FERDINAND MOLLOY CAPT ACS (Army of the Confederate States). Major Ferdinand Molloy served on Gen. Beauregard's staff during the Civil War as Quartermaster Officer. Born April 17, 1835 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and died November 6, 1874 in Memphis, Tennessee. As Quartermaster, a good deal of supplies and provisions would have passed through his hands, and this note was evidently exchanged for disbursed supplies during the first year of the war.
