Edo period
Each of otoshi-zutsu type, the first carved to the front with a bat in flight above reishi fungus and rockwork, the cord attachment formed as a reishi scepter; the second with a front panel featuring a bird perched on a pomegranate tree heavy with fruit and with one branch forming the cord attachment, all reserved on a textured ground extending to the reverse (now mounted as a cane handle).
