The top of the thick slab carved in shallow relief with a circular reservoir below a dragon and phoenix facing a flaming pearl amid clouds, the pearl formed from a brown 'eye' in the marix, the reverse neatly recessed with an incised inscription and bearing the signature of the Qing dynasty painter Shen Quan reading Fa Shi Tian Weng Shen Quan followed by a seal reading Heng Zhai (wear, old chip).
