The larger panel of dark scarlet satin embroidered in couched gilt threads, white and richly hued silk threads with an image of He Xiangu surrounded by depictions of the Three Stars of Happiness, seven Immortals and elaborate borders of phoenix and peony branches (fading, toning, losses); the second a pieced cherry red hanging featuring auspicious cranes, deer, peony and peach branches worked primarily in polychrome silk threads with some gilt-couched thread details (fading, surface soiling).
