Two Canton famille rose enameled snuff bottles
1850-1920
The first of flattened spade shape with cylindrical neck and recessed oval base, with classical Chinese landscape reversed by a European woman with three children in an interior scene (restored and repainted); the second of flattened double-gourd form with cylindrical neck and oval foot, painted with beauties on the white ground of the opposing sides, the recessed base bearing a two-character Qianlong mark in iron red (extensive wear); together with two miniature porcelain vases of similar double-gourd shape with green enamel applied to the interior necks, the exterior of one displaying mottled blue and white enamel and the other of mottled rose and white enamel (repaired rim).
