A group of four snuff bottles
The first a section form a hornbill casque, realistically carved and undercut as a cicada; the second, of pieced hornbill casque sections carved in shallow relief with a dragon amid waves, the flat base plate of reddish brown hue; the third of an 'angel skin' coral branch section carved with birds and flowering roses surrounding a cylindrical form topped with a lotus bud stopper; the fourth of mottled reddish orange coral carved as chrysanthemum flower heads surrounding the base and shoulders of a flattened ovoid bottle with cylindrical neck and flat base.
2 1/4 to 2 1/2in (5.5 to 6.5cm) high
