A group of four cloisonné enameled metal snuff bottles
1870-1950
The first of moon flask form with cylindrical neck and flat oval base, depicting butterflies and flowers in bright colors on an ultramarine blue enamel ground (wear); the second with short circular neck and flattened ovoid body with alternating butterfly and floral panels in subdued enamels and white on a black ground framed by pale blue pearl bands and a leaf green ground, the flat base of oval shape (wear); the third with a long waisted neck rising from a body of flattened pear form supported on an oval foot ring, the walls covered with overlapping flower heads and roundels in brightly colored enamels on a brown enamel ground (wear); the fourth of flattened trilobate form with flared circlular neck and flared oval foot featuring flowering branches in bright colors on the turquoise ground, the recessed base filled with dark blue enamel.
