A frosted glass snuff bottle with sapphire blue overlay
1820-1880
Of compressed form with flat lip, waisted neck and recessed flat foot surrounded by an oval foot rim, the overlay carved with continuous waves around the base, with one side with a leaping carp emitting a vaporous cloud upon which sits a pavilion, reversed by a sun rising from the waves, above bats fly amid clouds, one edge of the bottle with a crane carrying a flute, the other edge with a bat holding peaches.
