The large horizontal format depicting scholars walking to and from a rural retreat or boating through the mist-filled water course with an inscription bearing the cyclical date wu-zi (1948) and a signature reading Zhang Zhitang with seal reading Zhitang; set within a wood frame fitting into a display stand with reticulated aprons, spandrels and transverse feet (losses to stand).
