A pair of turquoise glazed soft paste porcelain hanging vases
Qianlong marks, Late Qing dynasty
The thinly glazed vessels of zhadou shape and suspended by chains attached to loops molded to the wide mouth rims on either side of the small central apertures plugged by fitted lids with perforated holes, the undersides of the rims as well as the waisted necks and feet all intricately incised in dense repeating geometric bands surrounding the central nodes of the bodies reticulated with the eight auspicious emblems (ba ji xiang) atop a basket weave pattern, all supported by flared foot rims surrounding recessed bases bearing the impressed six character marks.
