Light foxing to title and ownership inscription crossed out, a couple of the genealogies trimmed, binding worn, upper hinge repaired, lower cover detached.
FIRST EDITION. Leslie, Bishop of Ross, was a confidant to Mary Queen of Scots, and fought for her cause at the papal court in Rome. This work, "designed to impress the pope with Scottish constancy to the Roman Catholic church," is largely a topographical and historical account of Scotland and her rulers (ODNB). Adams L541.
