Footnotes

  • Lissitzky's collaboration with Mayakovsky in 1923 produced one of the most remarkable constructivist books ever published. Lissitzky designed, or 'constructed', this publication of Mayakovsky's thirteen oft-quoted poems which, as the title indicates, were meant to be read aloud. The implementation of a thumb-tab index serves to heighten the construction of the book as a useful tool.
