Russia, 18th century the Saviour within an oval mandorla radiating with golden rays, His garments heightened with assiste stands astride the broken gates of hell holding a furled scroll in his left hand whilst with his right he reaches down to raise Adam from his tomb, and on the left Eve rises from her grave, her hands in front of her joined in prayer; on the right Kings David and Solomon are shown crowned and in imperial vestments whilst on the left is the figure of St. John the Baptist accompanied by two other saints, with applied silver haloes, the raised border applied with silver basma with stamped decoration
