painted on either side with the Saints and Festivals commemorated during the month of December, on a gold ground, each designated with an inscription; the subjects include: St. Barbara (4th), St. Savva (5th), St. Nicholas (6th), The Meeting of Joachim and Anna (9th), the Stylites Daniel and Simeon (11th), The Three Boys from the Fiery Furnace (Ss. Ananias, Azarias, and Misael)(17th), the Holy Martyr Sevastian and his companion bishops (18th), St. Igantios (20th), St. Juliana and St. Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow (21st), St. Anastasia (22nd), St. Evgenia (23rd), the Nativity of Christ (25th), the Council of the Mother of God, and St. Evthimios (26th), the Apostle and Deacon St. Stephen and St. Theodor (27th), the Christians Martyred at Nicomedia while attending divine service (28th), the Massacre of the Innocents, and Abbot Marcellos (29th), St. Anisios (30th), St. Melania (31st)
