Comparison should be made with a number of tabletki, notably two attributed to Moscow and dated to around 1597 in the Korin Collection, Moscow. (V.I.Antonova, Drevnerusskoe Iskusstvo v Sobranii Pavla Korina, Moscow, 1966, nos. 51 and 52, pp.68-76, pls. 67-70); two later examples dated to circa 1600 and attributed to Central Russia. (Hetty J. Roozemond-van Ginhoven, Ikon: Inspired Art Icons from the 'De Wijenburgh' Collection, Echteld 1980, nos.87 and 88.)
