A Louis XVI cinnabar lacquer and vari-colour gold mounted bonbonnière
maker's mark rubbed, Paris 1774
Circular, the cover and base with central rose and lemon gold patera bosses on a cinnabar lacquer ground divided by engraved rose gold bands each part centred by a gilt flowering plant, the rim mounts with stiff leaf engraved decoration, the interior with tortoiseshell lining, height 2.9cm, diameter 6.3cm.
