A viscount's coronet ensigning the engraved arms of TURNOUR impaling CHAPMAN for the 1781 marriage of Edward, eldest son of the 1st Earl Winterton to Jane, daughter of Richard Chapman of London.
During his father's lifetime Edward Turnour was accorded the courtesy title of Viscount Turnour of Gort, co.Galway. On the death of the 1st Earl Winterton in 1788 he was succeeded by Edward who was born in 1758 and lived until 1831. Jane, Countess Winterton died in 1792 having born 4 sons and 3 daughters. The earl later married Harriet, widow of the Revd John Bodicote, but had no further children.
