A Victorian silver four-piece tea and coffee service
by Elkington & Co Ltd, London 1890
In the Russian manner, the upper body applied with diamond and floral boss motifs on a foliate scroll-engraved ground, the cast reeded girdle embellished with intermittent quatrefoils and the lower section of each body applied with strapwork having trefoil capitals, the angular handles flanked with over-lapping trefoils leaves which form a border to the collar, ivory insulators, the pots with slanted hinged covers set with cast cushion-shaped bosses, raised on waisted circular bases with ropetwist girdles, beaded rims and engraved with zig-zag band, monogrammed, height of coffee pot 29cm, weight 93oz. (4)
